POLY UNIT
poly 01-definition of polygon and difference between concave and convex
Definition of polygon-A polygon is a many sided, planar, enclosed figure.
*A polygon is named according to its sides
-all sides congruent = equilateral polygon
-all angles congruent = equiangular polygon
-all angles and sides congruent = regular polygon

POLY 02-Naming polygons by side
There are also ways of naming pentagons through the tens and even hundreds digits. You just take the name of the tens (or hundreds) digit you want, piece together with "kai", find the name for the ones digit, and add "gon" to the end. Here are some examples.
24 - icosikaitetragon
37 - triacontakaiheptagon
And here's the table
(*To write hundreds place use the term "hecta")

POLY 03-Given a polygon of any number of sides, identify interior angles and determine the sum of the interior angles. Also, given the sum of interior angles, determine the number of sides the polygon has. |
POLY 04-Given a polygon of any number of sides, identify exterior angles and determine the sum of the exterior angles. |
POLY 05-Solve problems relating single interior angles, single exterior angles, sum of interior angles and number of sides in a regular polygon.
In each polygon name the number of sides, the name of the polygon, the measure of a single interior angle, and the measure of a single exterior angle.
